Akh The Angry Academic Activist

So the BBC Panorama’s John Ware finds “Muslim Extremists” running schools and takes the evidence to Michael Gove, Education Secretary.

Policy Exchange, the think tank also reports on the same thing as reported by Andrew Gilligan.

The ex-chairman of Policy Exchange is…….Michael Gove.

It's way past time we were are schooled together, with religious education covering what faiths believe but not teaching one as true. I was lucky enough to have learned alongside kids who were from hindu, muslim, sikh, jewish and christian backgrounds. This was probably one of the only environments where we had a chance to forge real friendships across the cultural boundaries. Segregating children by faith is wrong, regardless of how extreme the texts are.

Shoot the messenger? In Sandwell in the West Midlands, a 15 year old girl has been arrested for allegedly burning the koran. This is the first step of a road that leads to the situation in Pakistan, where a Christian woman has been condemned to death for blasphemy. If you really want to understand why 'westerners' are Islamophobic (phobia = fear, by the way) then try looking at yourself more critically.
