Latest poll makes it neck-and-neck in Glasgow Central
The latest opinion poll of Westminster voting intentions have given the SNP a seven point lead over Labour.
When entered into Electoral Calculus, this puts the SNP and Labour neck-and-neck in Glasgow Central.
This isn't entirely surprising given how positively the SNP government in Holyrood is viewed (click here). Alex Salmond is 75 points ahead of Wendy Alexander in popularity. Prescription charges are being abolished, free university education has been restored and council tax has been frozen.
Little wonder that when Salmond challenged the opposition to reject the SNP budget and have an election, they backtracked.
Labour will eventually have to come to the polls again, though on current performance, it seems unlikely Gordon Brown will do it next year.

Game on!
Sarwar Junior's been going around telling people he's not worried and to look at the stats. Hope he's still looking!

The other factor you've got in Glasgow Central is the total sliminess of it all. Anas Sarwar parachuted in from nowhere, not even done anything for the Labour Party, let alone the community.
Now he's being paraded everywhere by daddy, but where's he been all these years? He suddenly takes an interest in things because nepotism got him into candidacy. Yuck.

It may be neck and neck on Electoral calculus, but local factors - i.e. excellent SNP candidate and no incumbent Labour MP standing - probably mean that Labour is now out of the running in this once safe Labour seat.
