Washington, DC

Firstly, what a play by Eli Manning and what a catch by Tyree!

Who says I don't integrate quickly?

Got into the US without too much hassle. Was taken aside by Homeland Security, not so much for a random search but because my name "popped up". Was asked what I was doing here, what I do, whether I'd been to Pakistan and was then sent on my way.

Spent the last few days in Washington. First day was sightseeing - White House, Capitol, Lincoln Memorial, Smithsonian et al. I really like the feel of the place. By comparison with other great cities it's relatively new. There isn't any less sense of history though, especially with so much thought put into the layout and symbolism.

There's also been some meetings exploring the power of states versus federalism, and also looking at the situation over the various minorities in the country. More to follow soon hopefully.

Wireless connectivity isn't as good as I thought it would be! Hotels charge for it, and while that would be ok (though I'm sure it will change soon - they don't charge for using the TV!), it is not very reliable.
