White Paki

Just heard about a Muslim lady that was abused at the new Silverburn shopping complex in south Glasgow. She was pushing along a double-buggy containing two infants, while her other four-year-old son was walking along with her.

A group of youths started shouting "White Paki", presumably irked by the fact she is a convert to Islam that wears a hijab. They then lobbed a glass bottle at her which smashed into pieces but thankfully missed the family.

None of this is being reported to the police, despite advice to her to do so. My fear is that many incidents like this are going uncatalogued, meaning not only are louts getting away with it, but the scale and growth of the problem is going unnoticed by the authorities.

As a white convert myself I can tell you this type of thing happens pretty often. Like you have said, more often than not, it goes unreported.

I have had half a dozen ladies I know who wear hijab who have told me about being verbally assaulted and threatened, but didnt say anything. These were all "born" Muslims were the women learned from an early age not to contact the authorities for anything.

I dont understand why a Western convert would fear the police. I think it is a duty to report such things.

Wow. What is wrong with people in this day and age? If a white man did that to a black man today - I don't care where in the world - it would be headline news guaranteed and something would be done about it.

If this happened in a shopping centre the family involved may not want to report it to the police but there may be video footage which could lead to a prosecution for breach of the peace or criminal damage.

Perhaps a more circumspect approach could deal with these embarrassments to our country?

Salaams - to be honest, when I went on a half-day journey the other day, I switched from my usual shalwar kameez to joggers and a hoody, so my salaams got a double take but the ginger beard is a giveaway! Usually, I like to be stand up and be counted and be there to respond to peoples concerns - after 7/7 I put my Westies in the drawer for a month. But lately, I feel a line has been crossed in the media, especially in the 'reader's views' sections - calling for Muslims to be deported and such like. There are some letters to editors that need to be written about this, surely.

Racism is everywhere. I took my wife on our honeymoon to Egypt. She wore salwar khamees the whole time. Guess what? The whole time, men were yelling "pakistani, Amitab Bachan, Taj Mahal". One guard at the pyramids asked us "hindi aw misri"? We answered hindi. He refused to take our picture. Go figure.

Britain is not and never can be the ethnic homeland of Muslims .It is better for them to return to their own ethnic homelands and live in harmony within their own culture and respect the right of White British People to exclusivity in their own Country.

Nasty and lamentable though this is, it should be compared to the story in the Times of 5 December concerning the imam's daughter who converted to Christianity. She is under police protection having moved house 45 times to escape detection from her family. Police protection because she's changed her religion in a free country! Kind of puts name calling by neds into perspective. Of course, in Mohammed's words ,(in a hadith regarded as authentic by all schools) "if anyone changes his Islamic religion, kill him".

very sad indeed, i think this will continue to happen till the muslims start defending themselves and take the law into their own hands, why not, we have the right to defend ourselves, our women and our children, until the muslims dont give back the same medicine to these racist scumbags this will continue to happen and its time we defend ourselves, its a right for any innocent person to defend themselves against oppression and racism, muslims shouldnt walk into the gas chambers as jews did, instead should fight back and teach the racists a lesson so they wont target any innocents ever again.
