More disappointing comments from the Vatican

The Pope's private secretary has given warning of the Islamisation of Europe and stressed the need for the continent's Christian roots not to be ignored, in comments released yesterday.

"Attempts to Islamise the West cannot be denied," Monsignor Georg Gaenswein was quoted as saying in an advance copy of the weekly Sueddeutsche Magazin to be published today.

"The danger for the identity of Europe that is connected with it should not be ignored out of a wrongly understood respectfulness," the magazine quoted him as saying.

"He also defended a speech that the Pope gave last year that linked Islam and violence, saying it had been an attempt by the pontiff to "act against a certain naivety".

Believing that Islam is now a European religion, the 25-member committee wants to "listen" to the 20 million Muslims now living in Europe in a bid to understand their problems, as well as provide solutions to alleviate their grievances.

Brilliant stuff - they should ask the Scottish government for some pointers because its response and support for our Scottish Muslim community has been a joy to behold, as has other important elements in our community, such as the Polis!

It just shows goes to show that western-type democracy can still make a difference to ordianry people's lives.

No wonder not one western corporate news organisation supported the SNP in the recent Scottish elections - real democracy is anathema to these essentially (foreign-owned) totalitarian private tyranies.

They realised that an SNP-led Scottish Parliament would be more representative of the views of Scots folk and far more democratic than the single party dictatorship based in London (which wouldn't be diffult anyway - it couldn't be more anti-democratic if it tried).

Anyway,
Prof Tom gallagher of the Institute for Nazi-type Xenophobia opines that British Muslim folk don't want to 'assimilate' (I heard him whine on telly recently) - he makes me think of the Borg out of Star Trek with its grey monocultural outlook.

But the Vatican
accuses Muslims of trying to take-over Europe and assimialte it!

Which is it I wonder?

these are the exact same charges that were levelled at European Jewish folk during the inter-war period. Prof Chomsky refers to this parallel phenomenon as 'the anti-semitism test' - just replace the words Muslim or Islam, in any given statement, with their Jewish equivalent and immediately you are transported back to Wiemer-Nazi Germany!
