George Bush showing contrition in May 2006
I learned some lessons about expressing myself maybe in a little more sophisticated manner, you know.
George Bush August 2006:
The recent arrests ... are a stark reminder that this nation is at war with Islamic fascists...

A brilliant cartoon currently on the homepage of http://thomasmc.com/ at the mo!

Of course,
if there is Islamic fascism - does that mean there is American Jewish-Bolshevism?
It's just a thought -
- seeing as how both these state-corporate run political economies co-existed at the same time in history, once upon a time -

I don’t have any doubt as to the real Fascist Neo-con is! US are not fighting another WWII. Perhaps, he’s really imagining things! “Islamic fascism” that Bush described is to demonizing militant and fundamental Islam. And he has always been trying to draw a parallel with the Second World War and that his crusades against the Axis of evils were no less similar to their fight against fascism and Nazism.
For the sack of London Metro-Police, I certainly hope they have something tangible going for them than just conspiracy charges. This would only heighten our cynicism because there have been so many blunders: the Forest Gate incident, Manchester football stadium and the killing of Brazilian man. I hope they could substantiate the allegation against the 24 Muslims or else they will have a messy racial relations exercise in hand. A Muslim community feels themselves very much alienated and besieged. With the Forest Gate incident still fresh in our mind, where over 200 armed police dressed in biological warfare suits raided a house in East London and shot an occupant inside, only to discovery there wasn’t anything there. The time, the Police better cooked up something fast. Oh, please don’t just tell us they arrested 24 Paki just for watching Child pornography again! And we know, as Muslims, which is not true.
And to label someone as “mass murderers” is just a little over the line, unless they can substantiate the allegations some form of discipline action is called for. After all, he is bringing the LMP force into disrepute by making allegation before the facts are proven in courts.
There appears to be some co-incidence here: the PM was under a lot of pressure here. We know he is his cordial relation with the man living in the Whitehouse. Just last week, there’s a large demonstration against the Israeli invasion of Lebanon where thousand of civilian were killed, perhaps it is a convenience time to pick-up some of Paki and foil a terrorist plot..

As-Salaamu 'alaikum,
As I pointed out at Izzy Mo's blog, the terms Islamic fascism and Islamofascism have been thrown around on blogs and on certain comment pages at least since 9/11, as inaccurate as they have always been to describe what they are used to describe. (Khomeini's Iran came close in some respects, but anywhere else in the Muslim world you see anything like fascism is in secular, anti-Islamic states.) My hunch is that his advisers fed this term to him.
