Fatma’s two-year-old daughter, Farah Wahba, was moderately injured. Her one-year-old son, Khalid, suffered severe head injuries, and died three days ago, 11 July 2006.

According to the Times, P.M. Olmert “expressed regret…for the killings of Fatima Ahmed and her brother Zakaria”, but but went on to explain that “the lives, security and well-being of the residents of Sderot is even more important”. He did not elucidate on how Fatima and Zakaria Ahmed threatened the lives of the people of Sderot, or how killing their children would enhance security.
