Why all the fuss about foreign criminals not being deported? Surely once someone has done their time in prison, they have paid their dues and have a clean slate?
Unusually, Harry's Place bring a sense of proportion to the debate - only 2% of these foreign criminals have reoffended, which is way below average. Despite this, the PM is saying they should be deported no matter what.
The poster at HP is called Brett, who is probably new. Hopefully he won't pick up the bad habits as he goes along. Harry's Place in left wing shocker!

Foreigners who commit crimes should be deported as they have abused their citizenship. Citizenship is a privilege and not a right. The native cannot be deported but all aliens should be.

It is fairly obvious that if you commit a crime in another country you will either be deported or jailed and then deported after serving your time. The recidivism rate is irrelevant. This is standard practice and I can't believe any sensible person would believe Britain should be different.

Quite right. Foreigners know the score. If they don't want to be deported, don't do the crime. Simple.

Well clearly the Home Office didn't know that score, and are curently making up that score as they go along.
