The SNP's transport spokesman Stewart Stevenson today joined Osama Saeed and other Glasgow SNP candidates in launching a petition to have Glasgow included in the UK high speed rail network.
A new campaign leaflet was also unveiled at Glasgow's central station.
SNP Campaign Conference in Aviemore has today passed an emergency topical resolution urging the UK Government to make extending high speed rail to Scotland a priority, not an afterthought.
The motion was secured by the party's Glasgow Central candidate Osama Saeed and passed by acclaim. He commented:

Transport minister Lord Adonis today announced detailed plans for an HSR line from London to Birmingham with the intention of a “Y shaped” network with one branch to Manchester and the other serving Leeds and Sheffield.
The SNP candidate for Glasgow Central has spoken out on the need for high speed rail connecting Glasgow to London.
The Labour government will be commenting on their plans for a high speed rail line from London to Birmingham later this month. The Conservatives meanwhile say they will only commit to one to Leeds.
