The SNP’s candidate for Glasgow Central, Osama Saeed, has said he will open an office in the city centre if elected.
He said the move was long overdue as the one operated by the previous MP in the southwest of the constituency was difficult for people to access from the east and north and even for other communities on the southside.

The SNP highlighted the impact of Labour cuts in Glasgow over recent years on the first full day of campaigning after the 6 May election was called, warning that Labour were promising worse in years to come.
The party’s candidate in Glasgow Central, Osama Saeed, was joined by SNP depute leader Nicola Sturgeon in Govanhill, which has seen the local baths, a post office and a school closed by Labour in the recent past.

The SNP candidate for Glasgow Central, Osama Saeed, has welcomed the official start of the general election campaign, although noting that Gordon Brown had no alternative to hearing the judgement of the public now.
He said the election in the constituency was between an SNP MP championing Glasgow, or a Labour MP championing savage cuts in Glasgow's jobs and services.
Osama Saeed said his message to the people of Glasgow Central was:
"This election is not about whether Gordon Brown or David Cameron will be prime minister. And it’s not just because there is no difference between them.

Glasgow's Labour MPs have failed the city
The SNP’s candidate in Glasgow Central has slammed the city’s Labour MPs for failing to act on bringing high speed rail to Glasgow.
However, Glasgow could still be included with a strong campaign led by a new intake of SNP MPs in the city.

The SNP candidate for Glasgow Central has backed a new tax on banks which would raise hundreds of billions of pounds for the fights against poverty and climate change both at home and abroad.
Called the Robin Hood Tax, the proposal has been backed by a multitude of NGOs, trade unions and faith groups. It would work by levying a tiny 0.05% charge on speculative banking transactions, which doesn’t affect personal accounts.
Osama Saeed commented that the Robin Hood Tax would represent a new deal for the public and hoped it would feature in this week's Budget:

City let down by “slow coach” Labour MPs
Osama Saeed, SNP candidate for Glasgow Central, has slammed the UK government announcement on High Speed Rail which has omitted Glasgow.
Transport minister Lord Adonis today announced detailed plans for an HSR line from London to Birmingham with the intention of a “Y shaped” network with one branch to Manchester and the other serving Leeds and Sheffield.

The SNP candidate for Glasgow Central has spoken out on the need for high speed rail connecting Glasgow to London.
The Labour government will be commenting on their plans for a high speed rail line from London to Birmingham later this month. The Conservatives meanwhile say they will only commit to one to Leeds.
