The SNP candidate for Glasgow Central has urged constituents to take urgent action if they are not already on the electoral roll.
Osama Saeed said that he was concerned at the number of people he was encountering that were needing advice on registration.
Saeed commented:
“The Electoral Commission has been scathing about Glasgow City Council’s record in maintaining an up to date electoral roll. A massive 100,000 Glasgow people - one quarter of the population - are said to be missing from the list, which is an incredible democratic deficit.
“If you’re not registered at you current address, I urge you to take the steps to do so urgently. This is always important, but with the election both locally and nationally incredibly close, every vote makes a difference.”
